Launch of Mental Health Cafe in Derby
Posted 16 Jul 2019
Have you ever felt like you have to put on a front just to get through the day? Do you manage to go to work, manage a house, raise a family, and survive, but sometimes you don’t know how you get through? Do you feel like you’re holding on by the skin of your teeth? This Cafe is a place where you can experiment with letting down that front, and take off the mask you wear to hide how you might really feel.
Our mental health cafe will run on the first Tuesday of the month started September 2019, the aim is for people to drink tea or coffee, eat cake, and discuss mental health. Our aim is to reduce mental health stigma and to help people make the most of their lives.
The group has no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a support or counselling session.
The Cafe runs:
- On a not for profit basis
- In an accessible, respectful and confidential space
- With no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action
- Alongside refreshing drinks and nourishing food – and cake!
Come along and spend time with our trained mental health professionals and peer support workers, in a confidential, anonymous space where it is safe to just be you. We welcome the myriad of emotions that you might feel, and aim to hold a safe space where you can just be you, right here, right now.
Please note that we will not ask for any identifying information. Due to the anonymity offered at these sessions, they are open to those age 18 and over. All staff are DBS checked and trained. Please see policies at www.ponypartnerships.com/policies
